River Hobby Super Crocodile - 2WD 1/5th RTR by RIPMAX
| In the past, 1/5th scale cars meant expensive, but not today! The River Hobby Super Crocodile redifines the term 'Value for money' by offering a big, 2WD buggy with 2.4gHz radio and a powerful 30cc petrol engine that is fully assembled. This is a purpose designed car with many key components, like the main drive gears, machine cut in steel. The heavy duty clutch system connected to them is pretty much maintenance free. Only extensive dirt and mud ingress will need cleaning out. The whole car is built on an immensly strong, 3mm Aluminium chassis with side kick-up plates. The front suspension assembly uses tough plastic arms and mounts with metal, spring pre-load adjustable shock absorbers. Only the ball link mounts either end are plastic. The assembly is protected by a heavy duty, plastic front bumber. Steering comes courtesy of a 20Kg, metal-geared, ballraced servo through a servo saver and large pushrods and rod ends. Exactly as you would expect from this size of car. Adjustments can be made to the tracking and camber. At the back, the gears in the drive train/differential are all metal as are the drive shafts and connections. Multiple ball races allow free running of the drive train and all wheels. The twin disk brake system operates from the 13Kg metal-geared throttle servo directly onto the rear drive train. The level of brake power can be adjusted. Rear tracking and camber can also be adjusted as well as spring pre-load on the metal shocks. At the heart of the car is a very powerful and reliable, 30cc petrol engine with integral cooling fan. Once set, the engine mixtures will hardly ever need adjustment. A quick pump using the soft clear bowl pump to get fuel up to the carb and a few pulls on the starter will have her running. Petrol engines are much easier to operate and set than Nitro engines and are ideal for beginners (adults). Fuel is regular unleaded that you mix in some oil with (mixing bottle provided). A standard, flat sielncer is included, but an optional Tuned Pipe is also available to really make her 'sing'. Additional features like a durable roll cage, tough spoiler and body and a very user-friendly, pistol style 2.4GHz radio just add to the value of this amazing car. The only additional purchases necessary are batteries (recever and transmitter), a charger for them and fuel/oil. Like all 2WD cars, there is a driving technique to learn, but that is here the fun starts! Throw in rough terrain and jumps, the Super Crocodile will just take it all in her stride. The grip from those huge tyres is amazing! If you do finally manage to break something, spare parts are very reasonably priced too.
