Torben is a close to life reproduction of a tugboat used primimarily for towing large ships inside the harbour.

The model includes all essential features of a tug such as, e.g., drive/control by means of a rudder ring, and the operational towing hook.

The hull is a deep-draw part made of shock-proof plastic, the upper works such as ship's wall, engine room, funnel, mast casing companionways, rubber dinghy and rudder ring are also deep-draw plastic parts. The deck and control room windows are already pre-punched.

There is sufficient room in the spacious hull to accomodate a multi-channel remote control unit. Drive is effected by a 6V electric motor with a 6 : 1 gear reduction ratio and if desired can be equipped with a mechanical or electronic regulator with power supply effected by a 6V accumulator.

The model kit contains:

• ship's propulsion consisting of propeller with shaft, stern tube and rudder ring,
