The Yak-11 was specially designed and commissioned in the 1940s for advanced flight training for fighter pilots. The experience of the already war-tested single-seater fighters Yak-1, -3, -7 and -9 flowed into their development, so that their best properties could be adopted in the Yak-11. The powerful, air-cooled radial motor with approx. 700 hp gave even better flight facilities. The two-seat training aircraft was used by all member states of the Warsaw Pact as well as in the Middle East, Austria and China. The wingspan of this machine, which was mainly manufactured in Czechoslovakia, was 9.40 meters.
The AMXFlight YAK-11 is a very nice scale replica in camouflage paint with all stickers that correspond to the original. The optics and quality of the model are outstanding - the plane impresses right away with its size with a wingspan of 1450mm, the massive fuselage and the huge 16 x 6E propeller. The YAK-11 comes as a PNP variant out of the box and all components such as servos, motor, controller, landing gear and landing flaps (expanding flaps) are already installed. The assembly is limited to screwing the tail unit and attaching the 2-part main surface. All components are screwed. Only the scale antenna behind the cockpit has to be glued in place. The voluminous fuselage is ideally suited to accommodate 6S LiPo batteries with a capacity of 5000mAh and the specified center of gravity of the model is therefore easy to set. The canopy is very generously designed and allows clean work inside the fuselage. The undercarriage has a 5mm material thickness and active damping - it can easily withstand the dead weight of the model as well as uneven take-off and landing sites. The expansion flaps reduce the airspeed significantly in order to make landing as easy as possible.
The model is very easy to fly and appeals to advanced as well as experienced model pilots. With the recommended 6S LiPo 22.2V 5000mAh at least 30-40C, long flight times of up to 10 minutes are possible. The performance of the model is more than sufficient e.g. for dynamic aerobatics or fast, deep overflights. The latter look particularly impressive due to the proportions of the model.
